Designed to overcome the
limitations of traditional acoustic systems, Fusion seamlessly
integrates raw acoustic positioning data with other appropriate
data from available sensors e.g. position, attitude, heading
and velocity data. The result is more accurate, faster and
more robust subsea navigation, the freedom to utilise new
positioning techniques and the ability to maintain performance
in all water depths from all types of vessel.
Key Benefits
One of the principle benefits
of Fusion ownership is the elimination of separate hardware
normally required to undertake the many different positioning
tasks encountered everyday offshore. With Fusion, the same
vessel hardware can be used to undertake a USBL towfish
tracking project one day and a complex LBL construction
project the next. This ‘one-box’ approach generates
substantial cost savings through improved product utilisation
and reduced overheads.
Acoustic pollution is an
important aspect of today’s crowded offshore environment.
Fusion systems incorporate many new features and techniques
that help operators to overcome this, enabling more vessels
to work independently of each other whilst maintaining full
and autonomous control.
To protect customers. existing
investment in Sonardyne equipment, Fusion systems are compatible
with previous generation subsea equipment. In addition,
the new range of transponders and transceivers support the
use of modern broadband signals enabling improved performance.
Applications
Fusion has been developed
to meet the needs of all offshore, subsea positioning applications
from single arrays through to wide-area networks that provide
acoustic coverage for an entire field development.
With a wide range of equipment
options and support for different sensor technologies, all
Fusion systems provide an unparalleled level of operational
flexibility and performance. A common look and feel across
all LBL and USBL software applications increases familiarity
and reduces operator training.
Fusion is modular, flexible
and cost effective. It provides robust acoustic performance
coupled with ease of operation. It is the low risk solution,
building on Sonardyne’s proven acoustic and engineering
expertise.
