Already proven in water depths of over 2000 metres, uCOMM technology provides a robust medium to high speed communications link from a dedicated low power subsea hardware platform. Surface hardware can utilise existing Sonardyne transceivers or take advantage of new multi element spatially diverse processing, providing advantages in shallow water channels.

uCOMM offers a high efficiency low latency data link with minimal overhead to transfer customers data. Multiple addressable nodes can be deployed simultaneously offering point to point or group communication links.

Data integrity and delivery is ensured through advanced protocols and forward error correction. This is demonstrated in the images above and opposite where transmission through a harsh shallow channel has resulted in errors in the received data that have been automatically corrected.

Options include omni and directional transducers, data logging capability, integrated internal or external sensors and integrated navigation.
